Scholarships at South Dakota Farmers Union Foundation
Keep the Torch Burning for South Dakota Farmers Union
Providing scholarships to the young people of our great state is indeed a wonderful way to leave a personal legacy of one's individual dreams. Our graduating high school seniors and post-secondary students are working very hard to fulfill their own dreams, however, funding a college education has become extremely expensive placing financial burdens upon many young people and their families. Establishing a scholarship program, whether it is specifically directed at a certain learning institute or field of study, or set up in memory of a loved one who held Farmers Union close to their heart, a donor's charitable gift will provide for a bright future for South Dakota and the young people who benefit from such generosity.
The following scholarship programs are being established and offered to help out our young people across the state:
Foundation Torchbearer Scholarship
This is a program designed to accept donations from individuals who have benefited from the South Dakota Farmers Union Foundation youth education programs, completing the program in its entirety and participating in the prestigious torchbearer ceremony. Donors to this scholarship program will be recognized at all youth education programs as they are held throughout the state. The goal of this scholarship program is to award five $1,000 scholarships to deserving individuals who show continued interest in the Farmers Union education programs.
Foundation Mentor Scholarship
This scholarship program is designed to accept donations from anyone who believes in the future of our great state - our young people. These donors desire to share and pass on their visions for a great South Dakota through the goals and dreams of the ten recipients of these $500 scholarships.
